Golden Desert

One doesn’t have to spend much time in the desert to see the beauty hidden under that harsh mid-day sun. Moments before sunrise brings dramatic flashes of pink and orange on sand and rocks. Evening brings another brilliant color show to those willing to wait for it.

As Artist-in-Residence at Petrified Forest National Park I had the great joy of living on the rim of Arizona’s Painted Desert. These abstract images were born there, in the colors and shapes that the desert shared with me.
